Product Review: Una Brennan Superfacialist Vitamin C+ Skin Renew Cleansing Oil.

When it comes to my skincare I really am I creature of habit, once I find a product that works I kind of stick with it, until circumstance dictates I can't (like when you're poor student and you have to sacrifice high end skin care for food ... Oh the struggle.) Well I'm not a student anymore and disposable income is something I've welcomed with open arms. I've been using The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil for the past year or two, I find it to be both well priced and well packaged, for the value it's an awesome cleanser, AND it has the Caroline Hirons stamp of approval. I don't work in the city centre anymore and popping into shops on lunch breaks and after work has sadly become a thing of the past. So if I don't plan in advance a tactical Shopping trip, I run out of my supplies, and I quickly go into a state of panic.

When I recently ran out of my trusty, well loved cleanser and The Body Shop wasn't easily accessible. Off to my local Boots I popped! And having loved Anna from Vivianna Does Makeup for many years, her opinion is what I trust. So I ventured out, turned things up a bit and tried the Unna Brennan Superfacialist Vitamin C+ Skin Renew Cleansing Oil.

And my verdict is ... it's great! I have one minor critique but apart from that it's lovely! It smells gorgeous, which isn't something I take into consideration when dealing with skincare, but I couldn't write a post about it without commenting on its delightful, refreshing scent!

The product itself is your standard cleansing oil. It doesn't irritate my skin, it doesn't leave it oily or greasy, it doesn't sting my eyes. It melts away my makeup, even through heavy duty eye makeup and lipstick! I'm really really pleased with it! And I couldn't recommend it more, for a drug store cleanser!

My only nit pick, and nit pick it is. Is the packaging! While the text on the bottle is beautiful and sophisticated, and the overall layout is simplistic and chic. The bottle! Pouring the product out isn't ideal, you can't gage how much you want and I never get it quite right! Too much and it's wasteful too little I begin dragging my skin, I really do find it annoying. I always double cleanse so I pour the cleanser into my hand, massage into my skin, get a warm flannel etc etc. When I'm ready to cleanse again I take my wet, slightly oily hands and pick the product up and repeat the process. Leaving a damp, oily residue on the bottle. And it's just irritating. I'm probably being very picky, but it's my honest opinion. If it were available in a pump form I'd be one happy bunny! (And if it is someone tell me so I can get my hands on it.) Overall it is awesome and something I will return to, probably decanting into a pump!
